Those who decide to chose this option will spend their whole day in Portugal. They will visit the Hydroelectric Power Station of Bemposta. Afterwards, they will have lunch in a traditional Portuguese restaurant. They will admire the barrel-making process in the famous barrel-making factory J. M. Gonçalves de Palaçoulo. Next, they will go to the Filman penknives and knives factory and visit the tourist village of Miranda do Douro.
The hydroelectric use of Bemposta is integrated in the Duero International Production Center. The reservoir is not far from the River Tormes mouth. The dam is 87 meters high and is equipped with 3 generators groups. The visit includes a full look around.
The barrel-making factory J. M. Gonçalves is an family enterprise functioning since the beginning of the twentieth century. It distinguishes itself by its experience and great knowledge as well as by the progress in the barrel-making methods. This factory is the most important in its field because of them. We will finish the tourist visit in the locality of Miranda do Douro .
